In a week, your Amazon devices will begin stealing your Internet to give it to strangers.

aka why wifi passwords were always mostly a scam.

It's the same thing that Comcast/Xfinity started doing a while back, which is to turn your local connection into a wifi-hotspot for other users. Arguably, this is even more insidious with Amazon doing it, given that you have no contractual arrangement with Amazon over your personal Internet connection.

And also, this proves that the whole Wifi password thing, especially at your house, was always mostly a scam. It does provide a tiny bit of extra security. But, of course, it was much more about preventing easy *consensual* sharing of internet service with people near you, which hurts the bottom line.
