Did you know that theres more than 4 web browsers?

I love me some Mozilla Firefox but I'm switching for now

Recent Firefox update is horribly slow. Hate to see it happen; it's wildly important that Mozilla stays in the game on this. I always bring up Firefox as an incredible example of what Free and Open Source Software can do; I can't think of too many industries where the top 4 consists of 3 multibillion dollar companies among the richest in the world vs a non-profit. Can't do Safari, of course. Chrome is good, but I don't think it's safe to give Google that much power here. There's always Edge lololol.

But again, there's more than 4 web browsers. I know of Brave and Vivaldi, which are cryptocurrency-based and the new Opera, respectively, but not too interested right now. There's also pure terminal browsers which I actually do use a bit for email, more on that in another post, most likely.

But to sort of split the difference; I'm going with one of the browsers that's essentially a fork of an older (faster) version of Firefox. And while I love the name Iceweasel (okay it's IceCat now), it looks like Pale Moon is a well supported alternative. Kicking the tires on it now and not only is it really fast, it supports older versions of most of my necessary plugins — namely uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger.

You may see naysayers suggest that it's less safe because it's older and doesn't have all the updates; I find no reason to take these warnings (and frankly, most warnings like this) seriously. Also another post ☺

*HA EDIT, Canvas thinks that my new browser doesn't meet their minimum requirements. Quite mutual ☺
